View Full Version : Stuff tie downs....

We had a problem with stuff sliding around on the counters and inside some of the cabinets. I ordered a few various sizes of “shock cord” (same stuff bungee cords are made from) and added a few “Command” hooks to the walls just above the counter top, and it holds everything in place quite well. Just cut a length of shock cord shorter than the total length needed, either tie the end in a loop, or make a loop and secure with “ty-raps (zip ties)” and attach the loops to the Command hooks. The 1/16” works well enough to hold a small coffee pot in the corner while going down the road, use larger cord for heavier stuff in the storage compartments.

If you order from Amazon, you can also find these slide captures. Like the slide on a string closure bag, side push button.... these work well also for the slightly larger shock cord.

We're also using some old fishing nets to hold stuff down, larger stuff, harder to control with just a single shock cord (like dishes, stuff in the trunks)

Haven't seen this anywhere, so I thought I'd pass it along.

What to do with all those shoes that get underfoot.
