What's a good small tow car to tow behind a 30 ft , 5291 , MH

we've towed a '14 Ford Fiesta automatic for 60,000 miles, and now our '14 Focus automatic for over 50,000 miles - either with no issues, easy... and light - about 2,500 to 2,900 lbs for either.

We have a dolly and for the last 3 years we have towed a leased Ford Escape with the full maintenance package. First we had a 2014 FWD with the Nav system (handy on the road). Now we have a 2017 Escape Titanium FWD. This lets us have the service done at any Ford dealer and if it breaks down we have no out of pocket and rental car reimbursement.



Also I recently ran into a guy that towed a Chevy HHR four wheels down and was happy with that.



I am sure there are those with other preferences.

We’ve flat towed a 2007 Saturn Vue V6 for 3 years. Makes a great tow car!

I have towed many cars that have been great. First tow was a little Ford Ranger and the reason behind that was so that I could also load my quad on the back of the small pickup to go hunting. Only bad side was that I could only carry two people on it. Towed a 2013 Honda CRV which was a great vehicle to tow, traded it in for a 2017 GMC Terrain which towed good, traded it in for a 2017 Buick Envision which also towed good, but an air bag module went bad and they could not get the module to fix it, so I bought a 2018 Buick Envision which was pretty pricey, but man this car tows good, drives good and has all the luxury you can get on a luxury car. Of all of the cars I have towed I would have to rate the 2018 Buick Envision the best for towing. It is the total package.

I would never tow a car on a dolly. I lost a car on a dolly and it was quit an experience. Do not want to happen anymore.

I tow a 2007 Jeep liberty 4wd, Have used it for 6 years with no problems

97 honda crv-x all wheel drive. Any 4 wheel drive jeep suv the older the better

I started towing my Chevrolet Tracker in 1994, 4 wheels down and I have over 100,000 miles on it. Never had a problem, doesn't require additional brake equipment and 4 people can ride in it. One problem some one might not like a stick shift. My friend has one and his is 4 wheel drive automatic.

We tow a 2016 Hyundai Tucson on a car hauler (rented from u-haul) with a BT Cruiser 5231 which is 6 feet shorter and has a Ford V-8 engine without any issues at all. Of course most GM models you can tow all 4 down but the rigging to the motor home and car is not cheap.

I have towed a Saturn and now a Chevy HHR - 4 down - remove 1 fuse - put in neutral - and go. I have a 2006 5291. The Chevy has the headlights on when I'm driving away from the rig. Gotta put the auto head lights to off, or you won't have any battery when you arrive at your destination.
