What type of motor home do you have. On mine you loosen the allen wrench type screw on the bottom of the mirror arm and swing it out, then adjust the mirror also held with another allen set screw. If that does not work, then you might have to buy mirrors with longer arms.

You know you are supposed to bring the awning in before you start driving right?

here is a picture of the mirror, as u can see the awning blocks view. Also, see the heavy zip tie on the awning? well i had it open ON THE HIGHWAY at 60 MPH!!! so now i secure it further with a zip tie.

From what I can see yours looks just like mine however it looks like your mirror upper assembly is twisted pointing in towards the wall more than mine.

yes its twisted we were playing with it. i can see the lane next to me just fine BUT when backing up and wanting to see how close something is to the RV (FYI Endura 2004 model) all i can see is the awning.

In the picture it looks like you have the arm on your mirror pushed to far forward. Should probably need to be straight out from the door

Spring loaded????? I never have seen a spring loaded mirror arm. What model of Gulf Stream do you have?

It looks like a class C motor home.

hmm, as best practice, if you are seeing the awning arm and/or the side of the RV your mirror is turned to far in. You should only see the RV with a slight lean by the driver. This means you see more of the danger zone of things getting close to the RV.

I think your awning could go in more. Ours goes completely against the camper. However, My husband wanted a better view as well so he added these mirrors that he purchased on Amazon. I think they were about $26.00

re: travel storage, zip-ties work, or rope w/ knot, but also found that (on Carefree of Colorado, when properly adjusted for height, and put into travel storage position) the top of leg hooks over the wall bracket at top. This makes it secure for travel and CLOSER to the wall/ RV. To remove from storage, you unlatch the bottom of leg, and lift arm/ cap off its retainer. To store, you unlatch bottom, lift and secure the top, then adjust/ latch leg to wall (beware there are finger hazards in this operation)

We wanted a mirror that would be a little more sturdy on the connection. So we went with a ball stud mount and attached it to the mirror arm which is metal.
