not sure what you mean

a water pump is not needed if you are attached to a spigot, turn the pump off

a water pump is only needed if you want to use your own Fresh Water tank water, but also a VALVE or LEVER must also be turned in order for the pump to have access to the tank's water

I hooked up to spigot and when I turn water on at faucets pump starts running. I believe switch is set for local water not fresh water tank. Think pump is in the off position but I'll double check. Thanks.

Hello,
The pump is only used on all RV’s when Boondocking. You do not need to use it for city water hook-up. The pump is to build up water pressure, city water already has that.
Hope this helps you.

My 2008 Independence has two water pump switches. One at the levels telemetry panel and one by the lavatory sink. If either are on the pump operates upon water demand.

All you have to do is turn the switch off where it says water pump and the pump will not work anymore. Problem solved.
