The e-brake works fine when trany is put in park but i can't find a manual over ride. would like to be able to manually apply if engine dies while moving.
Any info would be appreciated.

What kind of rig? Gas, diesel? Air brakes?

Rare that your engine would suddenly die but even if it did you’d still have brakes. Some with residual vacuum and then brake, just not power assisted. Think the term e-brake went away when dual master cylinders became the norm. We now have parking brakes.

it's a class a. 460 c-6 trany.
I guess it would be called a parking brake because it's applied when trany is put in park.
chevys had same type of system.
I like the days when if something happened when moving the parking/e-brake could be applied,

I think the term emergency brake was more appropriate before the advent of dual master cylinders. With a single master, one leak and suddenly no brakes. Now a leak and the most you loose is two wheels with two still working.
