2000 Sun Voyager DP Generator cover

I have a 2000 Sun Voyager DP with an Onan 6.5k Generator in the front. Could someone get me a picture of the noise insulation around the generator if there is any? I removed the generator to have it serviced at a local Cummins dealer. The "surround" around the generator was made from plywood and I don't think it was factory. It was also oil soaked from a leak and I removed it due to fire concerns. I am the 3rd owner and the first owner kept meticulous records, but also made some well meaning modifications. I am just curious if this is a mod he made. Unfortunately, he has passed and I cannot ask him.

My 99 Sun Voyager with propane gennie didn't have any kind of surround over the unit; don't believe that was a stock option.

Probably your previous owner objected to the noise and tried to muffle it; which is fine as long as there is sufficient ventilation.

Thanks for the reply. I thought it didn't look factory. The control module was defective and I'm wondering if that was the culprit as well as the oil soaking. I've removed it and don't mind the generator noise. I also have 4 kids so I may have a higher tolerance than the PO.:rolleyes:
