Small section of awning worn through

A small section (5" x 1") of my awning is worn through wear the sun hits it when rolled up. Suggestions? Tape of some kind?

Their is a tape that is specially made for awning repairs, camco makes it I believe I picked some up at Camping World

We have friends who remove awdning, cut off 4-6" and resewed (proper thread required), but silicone (clear or white?) dab/ smear on holes/ thread holes, or SEAM SEALER for sewn areas.. and/or awning tapes or Eternabond roofing tape are options; alternate is price complete fabric replacement? (Fabric Not too expensive, but RVs are a money pit... )

X 2 on the awning tape. I had a small tear on my awning. I put some awing tape on as a quick fix. That was 2 years ago and it is still holding fine.
