I just bought a Camco Rhino 21 gallon tote and am trying to figure out how to haul it with us when we go camping for long weekends.

Empty, the tote weighs 26 pounds.

I'd love to buy a rack to mount it to the back bumper, but know that the bumper isn't very strong.

Has anyone beefed up their back bumper and if so, how did you do it?

Thanks.

I saw someone on another thread recommend these: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B084ZTHPTK. It looks like there's a lot of similar products with the same idea, so I'm not sure which are best (those were the exact ones they had linked and used).

The strongest part is where the bumper joins the trailer frame.Mount there, or you can buy a piece of "channel iron"the right width, and have it welded or bolted on the frame and paint to match. You can also buy square/rectangular tubing with a heavier wall thickness. It involves modification, but you now have a stronger platform to attach anything.Any welding shop can do it for you.

We have a 30 gallon water barrel mounted on a bike rack right where the bumper meets the frame mount. We've had no issues so far.

I installed 2” trailer hitches on the front and on the rear of my BT cruiser for such an application. The hitches can support up to 500 lbs.

I just bought a Kingsport with no ladder, and i have the same Rhino dump cart. I am not putting it inside, and i am mounting a bike rack on the bumper. I am going to get or build an A-frame cargo platform that goes above the propane tank, and it will hold that and maybe a cooler when the cart isn't needed

A Front trailer hitch will easily hold a rack that can carry your 21 gallon tote. Unlike a bike rack on the front, It is low enough so as to not interfere with your headlights. Happy travels!
