Water Heater Replacement

I'm in the process of replacing my water heater in the 2006. It doesn't look too hard to do; I'll let you know. If anyone has experience with the Surburban water heater, let me know.

I have never done one but a couple weeks ago the guy parked across from us in Anchorage changed his. He was working during the day so took him two evenings. Said it wasn’t bad at all.

I changed ours water heater out, replaced it with a on demand water heater.

Changing out a water heater is not a challenging job, but it is hard. There are some good YouTube videos on how it's done.

It's basically shutting off the gas and electricity, unhooking the water, unscrewing the outside flange, disconnecting the gas from the regulator, then just pull out the old one and install the new one in reverse.

I removed the water heater but messed up the hot water tube, I'll need to replace it. I want to test the hot water heater to make sure there are no leaks, etc in the lines. Not as qualified today at 75 than I was a few years ago. Thanks for your reply.

I did replace my hot water heater, no big problem. If I can do it believe me, anyone can.

Hello yes it is pretty straight forward. I have at the moment the suburban 10gal gas /electric, it works well for now, My next upgrade is the tankless I have installed 70 or more units and they are phenomenal..some don't agree but that's how it goes..anyway good job on doing it yourself and happy camping!!
