Recently purchased the 2008 34FLR Prairie Schooner. Could'nt be happier with it. Took it back the dealer for a few minor adjustments and to either fix or replace the living room tv which had no remote. Bought (2) and neither would program to it. Dealer replaced the tv with a 32" LCD (really nice). Here is where it gets tricky. I drove off from the dealer and when I got home the tv had turned over and the screen was broke. It was tied down at the base but not the top. It was hanging from the base. Now the dealer will not replace it cause they say its my fault. I guess i should have checked it but i assumed it was ok. Should i pressure the dealer or do i have a case??

Wow....tough day!

In my opinion and it is only that....although it would have been nice if the dealer service personnel had told you that it was not secured for travel... it is ultimately up to us as owners to make sure the rig is set to roll. Like when I fly....you might have buckled your own safety harness, but as the pilot in command it was up to me to check it for your safety.

I would think the dealer would at least help you to get another at cost anyways?!

Sorry to hear of your troubles! Man, I am glad I don't have to be in your shoes today! God Bless.

Well I wish you luck with your dealer but I think the minute they tied the base down they took responsibility for making it secure for travel.

I would say if the original TV that was removed was mounted for travel, then the new on should have been too. If the dealer installed the TV differently then the original one was, he should have told you that the TV would have to be tied down. If the original TV had to be tied down for travel, then it's your fault and you might want to try your insurance for replacement.

I would expect the dealer to replace the tv. He put it in.

Good going!! While reading this, I felt sorry for you, but then it made sense that when you purchase a new rig the TV is already secured for travel or in your case they installed a new one so they are responsible to also secure it for travel. Kudos for sticking to your guns. Great 5er you have there!!
