Hope you got answer by now. over the sink,under cabinet is a rocker switch to turn hot water on and off

I agree with Ron. Your problem same as working on a house electical system. My only add is battery and inverter only for back-up. I dont even have 1 installed. soo 1 issue eliminated. happy hunting.

If you arent plugged in directly your extension cord may not be heavy gauge enough or too long. if too small it would have worked FINE FOR AWHILE, but kept getting hot creating resistance and ruining...

try some CLR to clean\disinfect? if they have a used up sacrificial anode [doubt it in aluminum tank]? will do same thing.

Know this old post but no answers posted.hope you solved long ago. I believe the fan is thermaly controlled. you may need replace thermal sensor on pcb? If you know how or just run fan continuously...
