Pretty sure all modern RV tanks (bays) are heated by warm furnace air and not each tank individually by electricity, and I suspect the wires you are seeing are the level indicators.

Yes, the OBD2 ports are rectanglar(ish) but I think the ports on my vintage (1997 Cat) were round. However, I though they were 9 pin and I can't see anything like that under the dash.
