As I read your post the first thought I had was that your vent cover was not completly closed. As you described the water just pouring in, that is something that a little caulk isn't likley to cure....

It is not reccomended for whatever reason but I have done it a few times. I find that you can't get the coach really warm, going down the road 60 to 70 MPH suck the heat right out of the coach.c
