Are you sure they do not control lighting outside the travel trailer? Might need to check by the hitch to see if there is a light by it to assist with night hook up that is controlled by the switch...

3m makes a headlight kit that attaches to your drill(easy but replacement pads can be costly). Personally I use sanding sponges myself and a good u/v protect clear coat after to insure my work lasts...
