I did get some prices on the metal carport. Just doesn't seem practical to me at this time. One large enough for a 6400 SN was between $7k and $9k, depending on the manufacturer and what bells and whistles you wanted. I like my 6400, but that amount of money will buy a lot of large, heavy Tarps, at Harbor Freight. If I was to buy a new tarp, rope, and bungies every year $7k would last me about 13 years at what I spent this year. I don't expect to be in the midwest that long.
