It's absurd that a manufacturer would claim they leave off struts or props "by design" - absolutely absurd.

I'd love to see Gulf Stream make that statement in major advertising: "And to save weight & improve balance, we've been able to eliminate unneccesary items such as compartment hatch props & struts."

or better yet: "Here at Gulf Stream, our Product Development Engineers have come up with a new 'safety feature' we like to call the ACC (Auto-Closing Compartment). No more asking yourself 'did I remember to close the compartment doors?'"

ACC sounds like it would be expensive and could cause alot of problems down the road. We have issues on our fire trucks compartment doors, we have warning lights that let us know if a compartment door is left open.
