No 100% sure how Travel Trailers work but usually the GVWR is the max trailer minus the actual trailer weight leaving the cargo/payload (in your case 300). They usually advertise the base weight of the lowest weight trailer in that class. Meaning the tire, walls, etc etc... could end up being 300lbs total weight negated once added.
It is the same thing with the trucks as tow vehicles. RAM will say 11,000lb towing and 1800lbs of payload. That is a Crew Cab, 2 wheel drive, work truck. As soon as you add anything the payload drops and usually fast.
