Default Re: Any Gatherings in 2017??? Anyone here?

.. Hi Campers!
I suspect this Forum will get much more activity now that GulfStream has re-introduced some of their products that were apparently in a hold pattern due to gas prices until recently. I bought my 2004 BT Cruiser 5211 (Class B+) in November 2015 and have traveled from Ohio to Utah, from Ohio to Acadia NP in Maine, and from Ohio to San Diego, and numerous trips to Great Smoky Mountain National Park.

It is nice to see some activity on the Forum and hopefully we will get a chance to meet and compare notes. I have learned a lot about the electrical system (12 volt DC and 120 volt AC), perhaps more than I thought I cared to know. I replaced all of my cabin lights with LED's that I got from eBay for pennies. Numbers like 10 pieces for $16.00 including freight come to mind. I bought extras of different configurations and they really help on controlling electricity use when boon docking which is our preferred method of camping. Even adding a Spare Tire to my BT 5211 required lots since I needed to move the License Plate from the bottom center to the Left side where it can be seen, something that GulfStream could easily have done in the first place.

Anybody who is new to RV'ing can get lots of non-brand specific help on YouTube. Several Favorites to get started: LoLoHo(Sean & Christi Michael), CheapRVLiving.com (Bob Wells), Carolyn's RV Life, etc., plus lots more. Information about hooking up two Golf Cart Batteries (6V) in series for best performance when boon docking, adding a second 12 volt battery in parallel, Understanding and Installing the Solenoid for getting power to the house batteries, hooking up and finding really great information on Solar Panels, etc. Plus info on finding great camp sites, oftentimes for FREE and finding dump stains, etc. Even recommendations like quickly getting your National Park Pass (Senior pass if you are 62 years old), as these make camping in parks, BLM Lands and lots of other places be half price.

Have not yet seen any signs of a 2017 Gathering, but would like to see some. On the other hand, RV'ing seems to be primarily broken into "People who RV" and how they choose to do it rather than according to brands of RV. Example, some people will prefer to go to Full Hookup Resorts while others love the idea of Boon-Docking at Walmart and Casino parking lots and Flying J's as they travel across country. Cheers!
