My gulfstream was missing the reverse polarity fuses in the fusebox, the battery only charged from my truck. get someone with a voltmeter. If you plug in shore power, you should see around 13.4 volts , perhaps 13.2 to 13.8 volts. when you don't plug in shore power, the battery itself should be around 12.2 for 1/2 charge to 12.6 for full charge. if it has just been on shore power, it could be floated up to 13.2volts. this is all DC voltage. if you hook up the battery backwards you can blow those reverse polarity fuses. make sure the battery connections are correct. the jack should go up and down to match the markings on the switch.
