I use Economy Mode all the time. When I get on a freeway for a long trip I just press the Mode button and a little red light will come on which means that you are in Economy mode. But it is just the shifting pattern that it affects. I really have not seen any difference as far as saving you any fuel. I get around 8 mpg average on my Cat engine.
