Good to read. (Well, sort of. LOL) But the good news if any, if it is hardwired you will not have any more issues. The connectors were used as it would be very hard to wire it all the way though from front to back.

During the build process they seem to sit for some time before being connected and by then, they have been wet and what have you. Thus once hooked up, well, it only takes some time before it corrodes out.
