I am assuming that you mean the electrical plug that you "plug in" to get the block heater to work.

Mine is behind the rear vented radiator compartment door. It will work off of shore power or generator power. For our C8.3 when we were warming it up with ambient temps in the 20's, I left it plugged in for about 2 hours. When I went to start it, it fired right up without me having to step on the accelerator pedal to keep it running.

I do not know if you have a side mount radiator but if you have a rear access door, I would check in there first.
