It is perfectly okay to run your built-in (gas) generator while driving. If it gets gasoline from the same tank as the engine then obviously there will be a little more fuel consumption so keep an eye on the gas gauge; but your RV probably shuts off the generator when the gas gets down to 1/4 tank.
