I have a 2000 Tourmaster with a parallel switch to which you alluded. It's a rocker style switch.
While you hold it in, it connects your start battery to your house batteries for supplemental power. On my coach, it's located on a panel of rocker switches just above the ignition key and labelled 'AUX START'
