Question No pressure on demand water pump

Own a 23qbs vista cruiser. Just purchased. With water tank full pump will continue to run no water pressure. Found a valve? Behind panel in lower bunk above water tank. It’s oblong and I cannot turn it. I believe that I might be able to but I think I will brake the plastic knob. I’m thinking this is in winter mode bypassing tank? It may be in open mode if longer portion of knob in line with line is the design. Anyone have problem with valve?

You would still have water pressure in bypass mode. You most likely have a leak. Look for water dripping under the RV and puddles.

Default No pressure

Thanks for the quick reply. Did a quick look for leaks already. Will do a more thorough one. Thanks

Make sure the plastic plug sits properly on the city water connector. Otherwise the pump sucks air instead of water. In this case the pump can not rise a vacuum.

On our motorhome the city water comes in downstream of the pump and has a check valve.

The water pump isn't self-priming, it needs water in the pump to start flow. Try opening a faucet or outside shower cold water valve to allow air out of the system. If you can remove the lines at the pump itself, try removing the outlet side of the pump. Don't let the pump run too long with no water, you will shorten it's life running dry.

Every RV pump I've ever had has been self priming.
