Default Hitch lift motor failure

Good Morning!
We’re on our way home from a great trip to the Catskills and I was checking for some advice. We have a motorized hitch lift (I think that’s what it’s called…the lift that raises our Vintage Cruiser to get it on the ball to tow)..the motor stopped working. We did check the fuse and tried a new one with no success…fortunately we were able to manually raise and then lower it to hook up. Does anyone have an idea about that motor and why it may have failed and what to do to fix it?
Thanks, as always for your suggestions!
Anita

Might be a bad switch or connection to it (pull the top cover, and check connection and voltage).Could be a bad ground connection.Hope this helps.
