Torque curves for 300HP VT365
I have tried many places to find the HP versus torque curves for the 300HP VT365 diesel engine used in the SuperNovas. The individual at International indicated he also could not find. The MaxxForce 7 website only go to 230 HP. When I can't find something like this I have to wonder if the 300HP is accurate or just a guess. Hopefully someone on this forum can direct me to the curves.

The International ISIS report for my '08 GS SuperNova states:
ENGINE, DIESEL{International Electronic VT365} 50 State, 300 HP @ 3000 RPM, 530 lb-ft Torque @ 1800 RPM, 3200 RPM Governed Speed, 300 Peak HP (Max) (0012NTL)
I hope this helps. When the 4200 Intentional chassis with the VT365 are used up, I would suspect you will see the MaxForce 7 in the 4200. From what I have read, it will still be a 300 HP version. The 300 HP engines are supposedly used only in the coach chassis and are not listed on the ITE website. The guys at the International Service center I use say it is a unique engine that the had not seen until GS and International started building the Conquest line of motor homes.

I finally found someone at International that provided me the HP versus torque curves! They do exist.

Re: Torque curves for 300HP VT365
Now that the VT365 is out of production, it is going to be even harder to find information on it. I remember the information you provided on your link. The problem is, there has never been, to my knowledge, any good data on the 300 hp version that is in the RV chassis. Heck, the service departments have never heard of the 300 horse VT365 in most cases.
If I remember correctly, GS had a three year exclusive agreement with International for the 4200 RV chassis. If my aging memory is correct, that was for 650 units spread over that 3 year period. I suppose that there are only 650, or less, 300 hp VT365's in existence so there is not very much information out there on them.
It has been, in my opinion, a good RV application engine. The DT466 would have been better.

Re: Torque curves for 300HP VT365
I thought the VT365 and 4200 Chassis was a common chassis/engine combination with the International school bus line..?

Re: Torque curves for 300HP VT365
It was. Also, it was used in UPS package cars as well as some FedEx trucks. However, to my knowledge, they all had a maximum hp rating between 175 and 230 hp. The 300 hp version was unique to the RV chassis as far as I can find out.

Re: Torque curves for 300HP VT365
galena,
I must admit I had never seen that chart on the 300hp VT365. I had seen the previous data on the lower hp versions just not the one for the 300. Very interesting and thanks for sharing.

Re: Torque curves for 300HP VT365
Thanks for the tech data on my motor. I just love meaningless data. LOL Kinda cool though. Funny, the race car I tow with my 6372 (The Carrot) doesn't come on the dyno sheet until 5500 RPM. 715 ft/lb torque @ 6400 917hp @ 7450. 528 Hemi/ single 4 bbl No power adders That's why I love the numbers so much 8.66 @ 159 best @ 2850 lbs

Re: Torque curves for 300HP VT365
Very interesting. I have to wonder, though, if the engine in our RV's has so much of a higher output than the same engine in other vehicles, if ours is really being pushed to the max in our application. (or even over-pushed?)
But then I know that people have added power modules to the VT365, to put out even more power, so I don't know.
