Default battery overcharge

we have a 2004 sun voyager class a when plugged into 120v the coach batterys smell like acid and over charge any ideas why. thanks

Can you see evidence that the batteries are boiling over? If you can smell the acid, most likely you’d see wetness around the battery caps. If you have a voltmeter, you could check the voltage at the batteries when plugged in but either way, I’d suspect that your inverter/charger is overcharging the batteries and will need replaced. Newer versions have much closer control over the charging voltage so as not to overcharge.

I had the same problem.it smells like ritton eggs. I checked the System and found that
1 Batterie was bad. I could feel that it was a lot warmer when gettig charged than the other one. I bougt 2 new ones and changed them. I assume one batterie had a short.
The charger was ok.
this happended 1 year ago . never had a problem since wit this.
