4 - 6v 'deep charge' batteries are wired in two 'Series' for a 12volt output, AND then in 'Parallel', to provide a doubled amperage hour rating.

Series is Positive to Negative between two batteries, doubling their 'voltage output'
Parallel is Positive to Positive, Negative to Negative, between the two 'Series' of battery banks, doubling their capacity/amperage hours

of course, a 'Main' Positive post is where your main output to your Fuse panel/Inverter comes from, while a 'Main' Negative post is to your Chassis ground.

Thanks for the info, it wired the way it came out of the dealer but I can but wonder if something is not right. When I put a meter to the first two batteries they read 12 volrs but the back two batteries reads 6 volts each. The other thing is that the first two batteries are warm when the inverter is charging the batteries but the second two never get warm and the coach only reads off the first two batteries not all four batteries.if I take the first two batteries out of the picture my fridge only reads 6 volts at the circuit board and my lights are dim even though the second two batteries are fully charged. What do you think of this?
Thanks David and Kim

you must be missing the connection between the two rear batteries, the 'series' connection between Positive to Negative, to make the two batteries as a '12v' output.

without a good PICTURE, we're just guessing though...

Hello David,
To make it easy with all the wires off, first connect the eight inch wire on the rear bank neg to pos. Then go to the front bank and connect the other eight inch wire neg to pos. Then there are two long wires connect on the right bank pos to pos. Then go to the left bank and again you will have another long wire connect it neg to neg. Your battery bank should be reading 12. volts

Your photos do not show the four batteries. All it shows is two batteries. Can you post a picture that shows all four.

I have not found instructions on this forum on how to post a picture. It sure would be a lot easier.

Unfortunately my Scenic Cruiser is 8.000 miles away. I am locked down in Europe, not allowed to fly. So I can not take an actual pic for you yet.

Here we go. It is how to wire 4 6Volt batteries.

It seems like those are wired in parallel with positive to positive and negative to negative gives you six volts. Picture is not very clear, but that is what I can see on the short wires that jump from on battery to the next.

The you tube you posted is the correct way to wire batteries in series. But the picture you showed on your previous picture I can see the wires hooked up in parallel. Pos to Pos on the wires that jump from one side to the other and neg to neg on the other set of batteries. Then it seems, but can not see it very well it seems like again it has the front to back neg to neg and pos to pos. If that is the way they are connected then you are not going to get 12 volts, you are going to get six volts.
But the You Tube link does show the correct way to connect four batteries in series. Neg to Pos on the rear bank, then Neg to Pos. in the front bank, then two wires one Neg to Neg and the red wire Pos to Pos, front to back banks. Very simple!

The video is the correct way to make a high capacity 12 volt battery bank from four each 6-volt batteries.

The earlier photograph in the earlier post by Swiss Man showed four each 12 volt batteries connected in parallel as RayChez noted...

It is usually easier to see the connections in a diagram or illustration than in a photograph.

Yea! That is a good diagram of the batteries hooked up in series. I wanted to post a picture, but I could not find instructions on this forum on how to do that.
Thanks Chuck.
I have been in contact with David on how to connect them by phone.
