My wife and I purchased a 2020 23BHS and we are quite excited.
It was a one owner and from what we can tell the stove, oven, microwave were never used. The TV remote was still in it's shrink wrap. It was traded in at a camping store and while we were looking at it four other couples came to look at it and even stepped inside while we were in it. So I closed the deal.
Anyway, the quick question I have is what is the weigh capacity of the bunk beds. I imagine 200-250 but want to make sure as we will occasionally have our grandkids and they will probably try to share a bunk.
We had same questions on our 2017 bunk beds as all of us weigh over 250 each. The dealer told us it was rated for 150, Gulfstream said 200 and another dealership video tour said 300. Never did get the Answer but it held our son's 250 with no problem. But the top bunk also is supported by a built in wooden ladder which certainly adds to the structural stability.
Interested in other answers to this, as well.
From what I can see, most bunks are rated 200-250 so I think we should be fine as their combined weight would be well under 200. The murphy bed seems very solid, I am imagining 400-500.
Not sure what to tell you about the dimensions, I have a PDF of the 'generic' manual gulf stream provides from their site and I couldn't find anything mentioning TV side. If it is of any help the one in my 23BHS is a Philips that appears to be about 42 but your layout (which is really nice!) is a little different. If we did not have those darn grandkids tagging along I would have chosen the 19twd also.
Just wanted to do a quick follow up. I went to the Gulfstream Website and submitted my question to customer service. I eventually got a reply that said the information I was after was not documented but they 'thought' the bunk beds capacity was 150lbs.
I replied it was disturbing the information was not referenced because what if my 50lb granddaughter and her 110 lb mom got in the top bunk and it collapsed and my granddaughter was injured? What did they think a lawyer would do? I can't be held responsible as the information is not posted anywhere.
One of the first things I did was rebuild the bunk beds. I can say they comfortably hold 250 lb each now. Essentially I doubled the number of cross supports, added extra screws to where it's mounted to the wall and added a birch ladder and birch trim stained to match the rest of the camper.
With our 19BFD I cut the top bunk in half so that I would have more room for bottom bunk. I can now sit up on side of bunk and easier getting in and out of bottom bunk. The bottom bunk supports 200 lbs I know that because our dog and I weigh that much. The top bunk that I cut in half is used mostly for storage and at times our dog will get up in it and look out side window.
