Default 2000 29ft. Gulfstream Structure Question from a New Guy

We have had a 2000 29 Ft. Palm Breeze for a little over 10 years now. The last 4 years is has seen very little use due to some health issues. Got it up, running (except the generator), and all is well. Have been traveling around Wisconsin and having a blast.

We are at the point we need to add some handrails to the door, both inside and outside. I ordered a couple of the Stromberg/Carlsons and they will be here in a couple days.

My question is in the structure around the door, where I want to mount them. Are there studs in there that I can mount these securely to? How close to the door frame? Do I need to be cautious about any wiring like the step opening mechanism?

This will be the first of what may be many questions for you folks. Really appreciate any help.

Thanks!

You should be able to just press on your paneling to find the studs. You also can use a stud finder.
Mine has a wood factory handrail on the left side.

Default Thanks, Michigan Scott!

Thanks for your reply! Was not sure if a stud finder would work with all the metal around. Been pushing and tapping on the interior panels and it seems there is a stud if not more along the door edge.

Thanks again for the reply!
