Default Vista Cruiser Mini

Well we took our first outing two weekends ago. Just a short trip to
Johanathan Dickinson State Park in Jupiter.....Florida...not the
planet. Over all we had a wonderful time and we love our new VCM. Of
course ther were a couple of things that need to be adressed.
1. The inside generator switch does not work. This was pointed out to us by
the dealer and they have ordered the part. 2. Some hardware was missing
from one of the cabinets over the couch. The piece that holds it open.
3. The micro-convection oven worked....once. Then no power. I checked
the breaker, it was not tripped, checked the outlet, it still had
power. 4. I noticed that the top corner of the storage compartment door
was very sharp, almost tore my shirt, any suggestions? I was thinking
of just taking it down a little with a dremel tool. 5. No toilet paper
holder, more amusing than anything else! 6. Window screens seem to have
a pretty wide mesh, no skeeters or flies: noseums? Oh yes! any
suggestions? 7. Power and handling. Seeing how my daily driver is a
2003 Tundra TRD Sport with with a lot of performance modifications....I
think its just me LOL!

We went on our second outing this past weekend. My sister came down from Washington
D.C. for a visit. We had not told her that we had gotten the VCM so it
was a bit of a surprise for her. We went to Long Point Park just north
of Sebastian Inlet on the Florida east coast. It is located just south
of Melbourne. Very nice grounds, we were right on the waterand actually
had some dolphins pass right in front of our site! We had a wonderful
time, but we did get more familiar with our unit and found "a few more
items that need attention"

1. On the way up we went into Limp Home Mode. We stopped, let it cool
down a bit, then continued.
2. We were wondering why the black water tank was indicating that it
was filling, while the gray water was showing a low volume even though
we were using the shower, doing dishes etc. Black and gray indicator
wiring reversed.
3. On the second night the AC quit at about 2am. Luckily it had cooled
off enough and we had planned on leaving early in the morning anyway.
4. The fresh water tank was reading 2/3 full, but was empty after a
couple of gallons. Looks like the sensor is not caslibrated correctly.
5. Center console lid hinge very loose, the screws used were not long
enough.
6. Water heater seemed to keep trying to ignite, then we would get
flames shooting out the vent. It looked very cool, but probably not
very safe!
These items were in addition to those that we found during our first
trip; oven died, missing and cheap hardware.

We got home early Monday and were able to get to the Dodge dealer,
their service dept is open until 11:00pm. We picked it up the next day
with a new turbo resonator. Running well now, all the way to the RV
service center where we had picked it up about two weeks ago!

I do have to say that I am very happy with Mills RV in Deerfield beach
so far. We went through every item with the service rep and she was
kind of shocked. I have heard back from them. They are replacing all
the cabinet hardware, AC has been repaired, new oven is on order. They
said that there was some bad wiring in the generator so it needs to go
to the Onan shop. Apperantly that is usually 6 or 7 weeks, especially
during hurricane season, but they managed to get an appointment for
August 24.

On the good side, we still love it! We do not have a lond trip planned
until October so we are hoping everything will be resolved by then. I
am kind of surprised at how good an attitude my wife and I have about
all this, but we bought this for pleasure and I just kind of refuse to
let it upset me!

I will be writing a letter to Gulf Stream explaining everything that
happened. Everywhere we go, even in at a couple of fuel stops people
comment on our rig and, of course, ask us how we like it. I hope Gulf
Stream realizes how much "word of mouth advertising" will help or hurt
them. I'll keep you updated!
