How do I jack it up to change a tire?

I have a 19RBS. I've seen videos on Youtube saying to place the jack under the axle as close to the springs as you can get, but I've also seen videos and comments saying to NEVER jack under the axle.

What does Gulf Stream recommend? I've seen nothing in the manual about it.

Camping season is fast approaching and I want to make sure I'm set.

GulfStream is likely silent on the issue. However, the axle manufacturers are not:

We have a 2018 19BFD which I beleve has the same frame and axle as you have. I recently changed our springs and istalled heavier springs and jacked up our camper by the frame behind the axle. I did not have any problem and the video I found showed the same jacking camper up by the frame behind axle.

Flower is right as far as I'm concerned. Jack on the frame, just behind the axle. Don't forget jack stands, never trust the jack alone. (My 2 cents).

It really depends on how the wheel and tire fit in the wheel opening. With your unit setting on the ground can you see the top of the tire,? if yes, place the jack under the axle. If not please jack under the frame. When you Jack under the frame it allows the spring to relax. Sometimes you won’t have enough Jack length to lift beyond the spring relaxing, and tire won’t clear the ground enough to remove it. And remember this! A tire full of air is larger than a flat one. Either jacking point “should be safe”. If it were me, and there was enough wheel opening area. I would place the Jack under the axle. It will lift the tire off the ground much quicker, than jacking from the frame.
Oh! and “Don’t Forget To Loosen Lug Nuts Before Jacking The Unit”.

BTW, the axles on your trailer are not robust. You can cause damage to the axle by placing a jack under them. If you must jack by the axle, I suggest setting the jack under the mount plate for the leaf springs. Even then, by my understanding, manufacturers do not recommended it. Jack on the frame just aft of the axle. Why dent/bend your axle?
