Default 1-year-old Diehard Battery not charging?

Our 2018 Gulfstream Kingsport 189-DD TT's 12V battery seems to be connected to the power tongue jack, but nothing else -- we need at the very least to be plugged into the truck via the brake controller for the lighting, pump, or awning to work. A week of all-day driving did not add to the charge, so I used an external charger which brought the battery up to full charge per the tester. However, the trailer panel shows no charge. I checked all the fuses both inside out for continuity already. What am I missing?

Is the battery disconnect switch on? Did you find the 12 volt circuit breaker, most likely behind the tongue under the frame?

The small black button pops out when tripped, push in to reset, follow cable from battery. If no button, it is AUTO RESET, and maybe defective and require replacement.

I've followed all the hot wires out a couple of meters from the battery post and found no disconnect switch. The circuit breaker shows continuity between those dissimilar posts.

Many hitch mount batteries have no disconnect SWITCH; what color battery cable is on breaker underneath, and does it go to POS+ on Battery? On POWER CENTER, (25a-40a?) REVERSE POLARITY FUSES will blow if battery connected backwards. Check that? Many trailers wired w/ BLACK/ WHITE BATTERY CABLES, where Black= POS+ vs when RED/BLACK USED, RED= POS+

Maybe the disconnect switch is on the ground side?

Time to start checking things with a voltmeter. When you are plugged into shore power you should see 13.3 volts or greater everywhere you check, including at the battery. If you see 13.3 volts or greater inside the RV, but less than 13 volts at the battery, it indicates that the converter is working, but the batteries are disconnected somewhere.

If you only see less than 13 volts everywhere, it means only the battery is connected and the converter is not working.

There are also large, like 40 amp, reverse polarity fuses on the converter (or DC fuse panel) that will blow if the battery is connected backwards, and they may be blown. Check all DC fuses with the continuity function of the volt meter.
