That should be the water heater switch..for the electric side.that should not be on if the heater is not full of water.it will burn out the element in minutes!!

Hot water heater electric Supply. When red light is lit it has 110v power to the heater element. Make sure your hw heater tank is full of water or you will burn the element out

I think it is the heater for your fresh water, and other tanks to keep from freezing.

it looks like the waste tank heater switch to energize the heating wrap to keep from freezing. So I guess you should see if it turns on the hot water heater, or the tank warmers. If the light comes on not hooked up to 110 or shore power then I would see it the waste tank warmers feel warm. So a few ideas, my waste tank warmer switch was totally unlable and was near the bathroom

I'm pretty sure that is for the water heater, my basements are heated by the furnaces so that takes care of the tanks and eliminates the need for tank heaters. And the location by the picture looks to be in the same location as my water heater switch in my 05. I'm curious to find out what his turns out to be!

OK thanks everyone, I do believe the element is toast, so how do we get to it.

It should be accessible from the outside. When you remove the cover you will see a burner tube, it will be located behind the tube under a black plastic cover remove the cover and you will see the element..
Disconnect the power and drain the heater then remove the old element and replace it.
NOTE fill the heater and air out the faucets before turning the power on. And always make sure the heater is full before turning it on or you will be sure to burn up the new element in minutes
