Default 26 foot BHS Innsbruck Water Heater

I don't know how many of you have this style camper. We have the bunks on the right and the bathroom on the left side with the additional door to the exterior from the bathroom. My water heater is located in the very back right corner of the camper. Under the bottom bunk. Directly beside the outdoor storage door. My question is there an easy way to access the water heater by pass valves? Right now I have to bend the wall between the water heater and storage area down and blindly reach as far as I can to reach the valves. The storage door is to small for me to stick my body in. Did any of you cut the boards under the bunk mattress to reach it from the top? I am trying to figure this out and what Gulfstream might have been thinking with installing it there.
