I want to purchase this 03 GS Friendship MH but it is in Ohio and I am in California. I have read on this forum about various problems and I have to admit it has given me second thoughts. Can a person ask a private owner if he had any problems and feel like he being truthfull. This unit has under 5000 miles...Need some advice

Do you know anyone in Ohio that could go look this unit over for you and you pay them for their time and trouble? You could ask them to provide copies of the maintenance records. Ususally if maintained as per schedule you can be more secure in how well the coach was taken care of. The fact that it only has 5000 miles might be a concern. How onlg has it sat between runs down the road? Good luck and keep us posted as to info you get and we will try to assist you in a decession.

Is this through a dealer or private party?

I would have them forward to you copies of all maintenance and repair records, including what was done as warranty repairs from their initial inspection on purchase.

I would also ask that they provide you with 20-50 digital photos including those photos of things that may or may not be perfect.

Lastly, especially if they do not have the records, I would get the serial number of the rig and call Gulfstream to see if they will let you in on what warranty work has been performed.

Other than that, i think you will just have to put up the airfare as a risk. And, the risk should not be that big since it is a newer coach.
