Trailmaster sealants

Hello all,

Been browsing this forum since I purchased a new-to-us 2019 build Gulf Stream Trailmaster 275FBG. It's been a nice summer for the family with this bunkhouse, it's a fantastic layout and has been an easy tow with my F150.

We purchased the trailer from a non-Gulf Stream dealer, this particular dealer ensured the trailer would be thoroughly inspected and resealed. At time of pickup, I was shown that the resealing had been done using Geocel Proflex RV on the corners and sides and XTRM PLY self leveling 'universal' sealant on the roof.

I'm at about 3 months of ownership and have been watching the seals periodically as I've walked by the trailer in the side yard. Last inspection I noticed that the Proflex RV is lifting off and cracking all over the place in massive chunks. The dealer simply said "this is why we tell you to look at it every 90 days".

I questioned whether or not the Proflex is compatible with the existing Gulf Stream and was told to "scrape off anything loose and re-apply". I cannot believe that this is normal for a product to be failing like this at the 3 month mark, I shouldn't be needing to reseal my trailer 4 times a year. This seems to be screaming incompatible as it is loosening from the factory sealant.

I am considering sending the trailer into the Gulf Stream dealer about an hour and a half away for re-sealing but am considering doing the job myself to save the ~$800 or so to redo everything.

All that said, does anyone know what Gulf Stream uses on these trailers?

I did reach out to their customer service and was directed to remove the XTRM PLY sealant from the roof and replace with Dicor self leveling, but the sides were left vague when I asked if the corners/sides were sealed with silicone, where the rep simply indicated that "you can use whatever you like as long as it keeps water out".

Would appreciate any insight or information available before I start down the road of having the Gulf Stream dealer do it, or do it myself. Either way, I just want to be sure that this is done so going forward I can just keep up with seasonal patchwork using the same stuff.
