Who knows where 92 Sun Voyager fresh water pump is?!

Just bought a 92 Sun Voyager Pusher (Type 8324PSY) for $7500, but CANNOT locate the fresh water pump or drain--I've opened every compartment 3X! I called Gulf Stream, and was told some employee THREW AWAY all the older blueprints so they couldn't help...so YOU are my only hope Obewan. Blessings, ya'll!

On the later coaches, it was under a plastic cover in the water valve compartment/bay. Here is a picture of the cover (in the red box) that would be removed to access the pump...

If the pump runs...try to track it down by where the sound is coming from. Good luck!!

The pump has never run (although switch at sink is turned on) so I cannot follow the sound. Nor can I drain the tank for the coming winter!

OK...let's try a logical approach. Find the low point drain valve -- it will likely be a small tee-handled valve that pulls out to activate, but it may be a turn spigot. Trace that line back to the fresh water tank. Somewhere in the outlet of that fresh tank will be a tee connection with check valves that provide the selection of water source from either the shore water supply, or the pressurized tank water via the pump. Check valves are often built into the pump outlet and/or the shore fill fitting so you may just see a tee fitting downstream of the pump...


Trace back both of the lines entering the tee fitting at the tank...one will go to the pump.


All of this equipment is usually below the floor on a class A, and in a bay with other water related items. For RVs without a 'basement' bay area, the pump and fresh tank are sometimes under a bed or couch...


You can find this pump if you follow the plumbing...

Thanks again Chuck. I'm an old RVer, an engineer and logician, so I've tried all these...without results. A thorough search of the underside only reveals a single drain hose (no valve) sticking through the floor pan about where I predict the tank ought to be, based on the fill hose that I can see. The only space I haven't investigated is the couple of cubic feet under the refrigerator. It is remotely possible they forgot to install the access panel there...

Post some pictures of your various bays and maybe we can get a further clue...right now we cannot see what you say can't be found so far. The wet bay will be of particular interest.

Valves to the drains will be in the basement compartment, not under there at road level where you found the discharge pipe...

Here is a picture of a 92 Sun voyager with the red circle showing the frig access door, the fresh water inlet and the shore water connection. What is in the two basement bays to the left and right of this circle? Post some pictures of your rig in this area...

Have you looked in the front compartment area where the cab heater/air unit is? There is two round style locks securing this front cover. Its above the headlights. I have a 92 pusher Sun Clipper and it is nearly identical to the early Sun Voyager. My water pump was inside there behind a wooden panel. I have two house batteries stored in there too which was a surprise to me as there was one house battery next to the electrical compartment and two chassis batteries in the back compartment near the cummins 5.9!

CITY WATER connection usually very close to FW tank/ pump, so valves should be there. Look for small black T-handles that you pull UP to open? Suspect you looking for white handles that you turn?

Some floorplans put tanks, pumps, drains under beds or under dinette bench? Worst case, go inside and start pull drawers to look?

YOU'VE DONE IT BMW DOCTOR!!! How'd you EVER find that??!
I'd have NEVER guessed you have to take pert the grill, remove two huge batteries, and unscrew an UNMARKED panel just to drain the tank after a trip or for winter!
I haven't done it yet, but you're clearly right; the tank is there, and the two drain lines poke through the flooring right there. I'm going to add valves to those stubs underneath so I never have to do this again, right?

Too many years being a mechanic and having to diagnose, locate and fix things.

You probably could lift the batteries with removing the whole front grill. Easier if you do.
I used my creeper to locate the tank, battery cables and pipes.
I also inspected the frame, brake discs, hoses and anything else of concern.

I am getting old now, so laying on a creeper is not a problem, getting back up is! 🙄😆

No wonder they moved the water pump to a more maintainable location in later years... I agree that age is something that seems to make gravity more of a factor in getting back up from being on the ground...
