Default Staining from roof

This isn’t just a Class C question but there’s not a General category or the like.

2004 GS BT Cruiser. Fiberglass roof. Cab over is hard shell, I assume fiberglass.

The roof and/or cab over shed a white powdery substance when it rains. It is especially noticiable on the windshield. Washing the roof works short term. I’ve used Dawn as well as a citrus heavy duty cleaner, and lately added vinegar. Regardless, after a couple weeks, the staining recurs. Windex doesn’t do much to clean the windshield but adding vinegar helps.

Any thoughts as to what I could use to seal the roof/cab over after washing or maybe another solution?

Thanks

You might be describing oxidation that is a fairly common problem with your type roof. Not what you want to hear, but washing the roof at least every six months reduces the issue.

There is a product (we use at the dealership I work at) called "Renew 3000." It's made by a company called Pro Pack, they tag it with "BEST" as a name brand. Here's a link to an Amazon source:

It's got UV blocker, which is very important to any RV, especially the roof.

Hope this helps.

Thank you, Rich. I'll have to increase my frequency of cleaning. I live in Southern AZ and lots of sun and UV. I just finished washing roof with a Protec cleaner I bought back when I thought the roof was rubber.

I'll try the Renew 3000 in a few months.

Thanks again for taking the time to weigh in on this.
