Default How are you using slim cabinets next to bed?

We recently purchased a 1999 Conquest Classic. The base cabinets along the bed in the bedroom are so narrow, I can't for the life of me figure out what besides stacked shoe boxes you could use the space for. Any ideas?
Also, we have a small 19" TV/DVD combo that fits nicely on the corner bedroom TV cabinet, but I wanted to figure out a way to keep in in place when we travel. I installed 3M Commando Picture hangers, which are sort of like Velcro. to the underside of the TV base and the countertop, then "pressed" together. They work fine so far, and are removable should we change something down the road.

I use one side for hanging items. Fot the other, I bought a selection of plastic boxes—the ones that have the locks that go over the top of the lid. With one big one (12 x 24) and three shoe box sizes, I can easily pack everything I need for a week. I travel alone but two or three more boxes would fit in the overhead and at the bottom of the hanging closet to accommodate a second person.
