Default BT Cruiser 5210 toilet filling but not flushing

Hi,

I am actually writing on behalf of my parents because they are camping where they have no internet access.

This is their second season camping with their Gulf Stream BT Cruiser 5210. First camping trip of this season. They got their water, sewer, and electric hooked up. But for some reason the toilet is filling but not flushing. They said they pull the handle and it fills. They thought if they push the handle it was supposed to send the water out, but that is not happening. It is confusing because they did camp a few times last year so this is not their first time using the camper.

We are trying to remotely help them by looking info up and texting it to them, but any manuals we have found do not have troubleshooting for operating the toilet.

Does anyone have any suggestions?

Thank you!

We just bought a 2004 BT 5211 which may be similar to yours, depending on year. It has a Thetford toilet. The owner's manual covers multiple models of the brand. One has a single pedal at the front. Press down half way to fill with water, all the way down to flush. Another has two side by side pedals at the front. Step on the right hand one to fill, the left hand one to flush. A third type of model has hand flush at the back of the base. Pull it back half way to fill, pull it back all the way to flush. There's a common theme in all of these. I don't know how much difference there is with other brands. Good Luck

Our toilet has a hand flush in the side of the toilet. Pull forward halfway to fill. All the way to open/empty bowl. Sometimes if the toilet has not been used in a while the plate that opens at the bottom of the bowl to drain it can stick closed. Keep working the handle and see if it will loosen. Use a toilet brush to clean the plate area and see if it will release. Preventive measure is to clean that plate And the surrounding area before putting The RV away. Good luck!

Suspect flush flap/ ball stuck to bowl, spring operated, was stored dry and stuck. Push down gently/ slightly on flap in bottom of bowl, and it will then open/ operate normally. Keep it wet to prevent future issues. If it leaks, clean/ lube seal w/ silicone dielectric grease. Luck
