Default New FEMA owner?

I just brought a Cavalier Fema trailer home today. I read in another post, someone mentioned downloading manuals for a Fema trailer. I tried several searches and keep getting nothing or if I find one, the link just goes around in circles .

Any help or advice will be appritiated.

Is FEMA selling the trailers now and if so are they giving good deals? I know that they had bought several thousand trailers when Katrina, but I also know that they had a civil suit because of the formaldehyde smell on some of the trailers.

I just bought one at a Henderson Action in La, paid $2400 tax, title, and action cost. Not sure where to get manuals, but will be looking. So far everything works great on mine, the
vent cap on the top is cracked. No bad smells in mine, appears to have been used very little.

FEMA sells their campers through the GSA Auction site, just Goggle. All you have to do is resgister and provide a payment method. Yes there are some good deals on spec trailers, and others. Not a give away though. Check it out.

I just bought a 32' Gulf Stream Cavalier. it looks great, and has everything, but no tv. I didn't know it was a FEMA trailor, but for $3500 after seeing the same thing on an RV lot for $10,000 I thought it was too good to turn down. So my question is, I haven't paid for it yet or signed anything. It is from a family who lived in it for awhile. Should I back out? Are these money pits? I didn't need one quite this big, but the owner is letting me make payments to help while waiting for a medical problem to heal. What do you think I should do. I don't want to let the guy down, but if it is a junker, my gut says walk away. The price is just so good...and now I'm repeating myself. Help! He didn't say it was a fema trailor. How do I know for sure? (If FEMA trailors are a problem.) Thank You!

OH, it's a 2006 model. Isn't that when the hurricane hit? Hmmmm.

Mine has been a great addition. With its normal Household appliances (fridge/toilet) it will lend itself to be cannibalized when I finish my cabin.
It was specifically built for the Katrina disaster. alot is made of the roof leaks, but I've learned that proper roof maintence is necessary for every travel trailer. If you move something, it's going to get vibrations and the rubber roof is going to weaken and crack just being exposed to the sun.
I'm going to have to fix the roof on mine, over the bunk beds and in the master bedroom.... but now I realise this is normal. Otherwise RV dealerships wouldn't stock RV roof items by the dozen.

Good luck and don't fret. You got a 34' travel trailer for a song. A little elbow grease will make it a doubly great steal.
