Default slide won't slide

OK....this hasn't been a good day. BUT, for now, we have gotten this brand new r.v. home and the slide won't slide out. We push the button and noting happens. What could we not be doing? HELPPPPPPPPPP

What type/make of RV? What year? Have you check the fuses? Have you checked the brakers? Have you checked the hydrulic fluid if it is a hydrulic system? What type of slide system do you have on the RV?
Is the RV unit leveled? Is the emergency brake set? Does th RV need the levelers down for the slides to operate?

Drivers seat forward? Can you hear the hydraulic pump come on? (assuming it's a hydraulic unit). You don't happen to have the travel locks in place, do you? Check that there is nothing behing the seal flanges? I almost snagged a briefcase once & also a bedroom drawer came open & nearly got crushed. We habitually double check clearance every time.

If I wanted to really upset you, I'd suggest you read your owner's manual..... Ha Ha Ha, I DON'T want to anger you. You're aware of the universal opinion of the quality of the Gulf Stream manual? Actually, your documentation probably does tell you what interlocks have to be satisfied for the movement to happen.

Hopefully you don't have a system failure. However, if it's going to happen, under warantee is the best time.

Default slide won't slide

We had the same problem and were perplexed. We narrowed it down to something NOBODY else could figure out. We pull a toad, and use the blue ox towing system. When the blue electrical cord is plugged up between the rv and the toad, the slides WILL NOT WORK. Unplug the blue cord, and VOILA, works like a charm. Nobody knows why (and who knows, the blue ox may be hooked up incorrectly, but it was done at the dealer, so go figure).
