Default Need to add freon

I have a 2001 Yellowstone m-8407. I need to charge the A/C. The clutch is engaging. Can someone tell me the location of the high and low pressure ports? Also, is the freon 134A? Thanks!

add freon only to the low, it will be a tap somewhere on a the bigger a/c line between the evaporator and the compressor. The high pressure will be on a smaller line between the compressor and the condensor, the condensor will look like another radiator don't use that line. Im sure you know to hold the refill can upright and let the compressor suck the gas out of the can top, there will be liquid in the can also, and if you turn can upside down, the liquid could harm/ break your compressor. so be patient and let it suck it out. best to have gauges too, as you don't want to overfill. Obviously this will not fix the leak, but give you A/C for a while at a low cost. make sure the compressor clutch is engaged, and not just the belt pulley going around and around, otherwise you will need to trick the low pressure switch, which protects the compressor from self destruction. you probably know all of this anyway, don't mean to insult your knowledge

My ports were very conveniently located in the front of the coach in the generator compartment. that also allowed acces to the rear of the drivers dash to maintenance the blower motor you may think to look in the rear where the compressor is but on mine that was not the case! And yes it should be 134a A/c is a wonderful thing!! Hope this helped!

Reduced cooling can be caused by heat doors that do not close properly, or radiator running hot even when dash shows normal, or a bad compressor, or system restriction; adding freon that is not needed can blow up a compressor.

Make sure your condenser fan is coming on with the compressor, I think they run together. My fan wasn’t running, seized up !
