Red face Awning and rope light question

So we have recently purchased a 2018 Capri 218MB its basically the AmeriLite 218MB but retro. We bought it new from the dealership so its never been used until this weekend. It only has the one outside light and we are looking to add lighting. we tried rope lighting and clips however the clips don't clip to the awning without falling off... has anyone ran into this problem?

If it's a Carefree awning, they sell an add on light kit.

There should be a sticker on the roller.
It will be visible when it is extended.

We have bracelets like Velcro small belts that runs across the ridge of the awning and we hold our outside cord lights in them. They have a little plastic pin that goes in the ridge and makes it very easy to put on, change distances and then take them out! I cant remember the brand right now but Im sure they arent hard to find.
