Talking New 2011 Gulf Stream Visa 19RGU Owner - Questions

Just picked up our 2011 Gulf Stream Visa 19RGU on June 26, 2018. Anxious to get started. Some minor fixes and repairs needed. First will be inspection and installation of 7 pin wiring harness and electronic brake controller on our tow vehicle. We left to visit our son about an hour after I towed the trailer home.

When I hitched the vehicle to tow it home, only about 5 miles, I noticed that the hatch on the hitch was extremely difficult to close because it was rusty and creaky. Does anyone have any experience rebuilding the coupler latch? I noticed several repair kits etrailer.com. Need to research more.

Can’t wait to get started.

I have the same model of Gulfstream and the same latch on my utility tlr. Keep it very clean and well lubed. A good coating of grease in the off season helps. This latch is also balky if there is any pressure on the ball.

Cheers
