Default Fridge

Going on a fishing trip and I want my refrigerator cold when I leave , obviously I’m going to plug it in to a shore line source to get cold, but do I need to put my battery in as well to run it??

If the loose battery cable should short or the positive one touch the frame you would probably fry the converter that charges the batteries in the camper.
