Default Rusty Sink

We have a 2-week-old 2022 Gulfstream Vintage Cruiser. It has a stainless steel rectangular sink that has developed a lot of little rust spots. Is this normal? Is there some way to stop them from showing up?

I've started to notice some small rust spots in the corners of the sink in my 2021 VC 23RSS. Of course a month out of warranty. I'll keep an eye on it for now. Keeping the cutting board over my sink isn't helping since it traps moisture. Don't think there's much I can do but you should be able to get a replacement sink. If it were me I'd have them order you a replacement sink and save it for later.

The squeelership should take care of that under your warranty

Try sanding the sink with 320 (or whatever matches the grain) grit sandpaper IN THE GRAIN of the surface. If necessary, finish with finer grit. Do it and the nearby areas with green Scotchbright. It will look like 2 weeks ago. Then consider some film to protect it. Cutting board oil? Canola oil? Nothing?
The cause is acidic materials on the cheap "stainless steel" The good news you can abrade the surface and make it fresh.

Default Rust remover from a boat shop

Go to West Marine or similar boat store and get some rust remover. Works wonders on a boat.

Default Rusty Sink

Thank you for your ideas, everyone.
I have contacted Gulf Stream and they say they are sending a replacement, though truthfully, it hasn't shown up yet. Fingers crossed!
