Default omni antenna on a 2012 Canyon Trail

Reception is very poor with our antenna, even in town closer to towers. There is NO power boost botton. The TV is digital with channel scan. Picks up weak or no signal. Did any other one with the same round omni non-directional antenna have the same problem? Did you find a way to improve it, without replacing the entire antenna? Thanks for any help!

I'm not familiar with your model, so I can only make some guesses. You did not indicate if your neighbors were having the same reception problem, so if you haven't already, I would check to see if you just happen to be out of range. Since you have a 2012 model, your's should be a digital antenna.

I'm not sure it would help, but you can purchase an antenna booster from less than $20.00 to more than $50.00 (Google TV antenna signal amplifiers). You install it onto the coax between the antenna and the TV. It has a power pack that you plug into an electric socket to power it.

On my 2003, the original bat wing antenna was not digital and had no booster. I have to say that when I tried adding a signal amplifier, I had little success. I bought it at Radio Shack and returned it the same day for a refund. I changed the antenna to a digital one last winter and went from 2 stations to 15. The new one cost less than $60 and came with a power booster.

I had really bad receptione with my winegard batwing too. I removed the cover where the switch was and found a bad connection on the coax, after I fixed the connection it worked great. Might be worth checking on your system too.
